If you are an employer or a person in control of a premises (such as a building owner or landlord), you are required by law to carry out a risk assessment for Legionella bacteria in Ireland. This includes identifying and assessing sources of risk, and putting control measures in place to reduce the risk of Legionnaire’s disease.
The Health and Safety Authority (HSA) in Ireland has published guidelines on how to carry out a Legionella risk assessment, which are available on their website. The guidelines provide information on the types of premises that are required to carry out a risk assessment, as well as the steps involved in the risk assessment process.
If you are unsure whether you are required to carry out a Legionella risk assessment, or if you have any questions about the process, you should contact the HSA for guidance or contact us directly for a free quote info@safersolutions.ie or visit our website www.safersolutiions.ie
